The 2015 and 2016 titles marked the most successful era in the history of the Chilean national team.


With a core of players who established themselves on the international stage, Chile managed to win back-to-back editions of the CONMEBOL Copa América™.

Chile’s first title came in the 2015 edition, played on home soil. La Roja defeated Argentina in the final after a 0-0 draw and claimed the championship in a penalty shootout at the Estadio Nacional in Santiago. The title represented the first continental trophy in Chile’s history.




Chile champions in 2016




One year later, Chile won the Centenario edition held in the United States. Once again, the final was against Argentina, and the title was decided on penalties after a scoreless draw in regulation time. With that victory, Chile secured its second consecutive CONMEBOL Copa América™ title.
