In the 2011 CONMEBOL Copa America, held in Argentina, Uruguay national team lifted its fifteenth title in the tournament, which is the oldest one on the continent. Due to this last title, the team led the list of champions. 

The 2011 CONMEBOL Copa America was the 43rd edition of the tournament and was full of elite football players and many high caliber coaches. It was a head-to-head competition and not predictable at all.

The decisive match was played at the Monumental stadium, and thanks to the goals scored by “Cachavacha” Forlan (2) and Luis Suarez (1), the “Charruas” managed to defeat the Paraguayan team 3-0.
