Di María, the CONMEBOL Copa América™ legend returning to Argentina

A true legend in the history of the CONMEBOL Copa América™ is returning home: Ángel Di María will play for Rosario Central after competing in the Club World Cup with Benfica.


Di María began his career at Rosario Central, debuting in 2006 and playing until 2007 before transferring to Benfica. He went on to play for Real Madrid, Manchester United, PSG, and Juventus in Europe, before returning to the Portuguese side. He won 29 titles in Europe, with the 2013/14 Champions League as his crowning achievement.

“Fideo” played 28 matches across six editions of the tournament. He was champion in 2021 and 2024, scoring the winning goal in the final against Brazil in the first of those victories.


Di María is 37 years old and will compete in the Club World Cup, held from June 15 to July 13 in the United States. After the tournament, he will return to Rosario Central.
