  • See also who are the best scoring chance creators in the tournament.

The CONMEBOL Copa America 2024™ has already begun, and the exciting matches on every pitch in this United States edition are already being decided by the goalscorers of the national teams involved. Also, assist creators should not be forgotten, offering precise passes and shots to leave teammates in the best conditions to find the back of the net.

Two names appear as the absolute top scorers in the history of the oldest national team tournament in the world: Norberto Méndez (Argentina) and Zizinho (Brazil), who scored 17 goals each in all their participations. In this 48th edition, some big names such as Eduardo Vargas (Chile), Paolo Guerrero (Peru) and Lionel Messi (Argentina) have the opportunity to get closer to this historic mark, and even to impose themselves as the new owner of such an impressive record.

During CONMEBOL Copa América 2021™, hosted in Brazil, Colombian Luis Díaz shared the Golden Boot award as the top scorer of the Copa with Messi: both finished with 4 goals scored each. In addition, the Argentine was also the absolute leader in assists on La Albiceleste's road to its 15th continental title, with 5 assists in 7 games played - two more than Neymar (Brazil), second in the same category.

Here is this edition's top scorer and assists leaders tables:
