  • Invoking the likes of Pele, Brazilian Endrick makes his debut at the competition at a young age

  • Dorival Júnior turns to his young prodigy in the 71’ with the game still tied

The incredible skill Brazilian forward Endrick has shown at such a young age has drawn many comparisons to some of the greatest players his country has ever produced. Now, after making his CONMEBOL Copa América™ debut at the age of 17 years, 11 months and 4 days, he’s already playing in the competition at a younger age than arguably the greatest Brazilian player of all time, Pele, who was 18.

He appeared in his first competitive match for Brazil in the 71’ as Dorival Junior looked to his bench to provide a spark. After already appearing in four friendlies earlier this year, Monday night at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California marked his first competitive appearance.

It’s only the beginning of a massive summer for Endrick, who after the tournament, will make the move across the Atlantic Ocean to join Real Madrid. For now, he enters the pitch for Brazil, becoming the youngest player to put on the Canarinha shirt since 2011 when Lucas Moura did it at the age of 18.
